Leptoquarks

Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) attempt to unify the electro-weak and strong interactions. These models often postulate a new conserved quantity, B-L, instead of conserving B, baryon number, and L, lepton number, seperately as the SM does. Sometimes, a state containing non-zero B and L exists, called a leptoquark. ep-colliders are particularly useful in searching for these, but they may also be pair produced at other colliders.

Excited Fermions

Excited states would provide evidence for fermion compositeness, a theory that explaines the similarity and mass heigherarchy of fermion generations.
